Parents Teacher Association

SUPPORT US TO SUPPORT YOUR SCHOOL

We are fortunate in having an active Parents Teachers’ Association which raises considerable sums of money for the benefit of the children through a varied program of enjoyable events for both adults and children. The school benefits greatly both socially and financially from their efforts. The Annual General Meeting of the Parents’ Association is held every September at which new members are most welcome. We are always looking for new people to help organise or run events in school. Please contact Elise Elfassy for more information.

Why not follow us on facebook to keep up to date on our activities and also join in our discussions.

If you would like to volunteer for the PTA but aren’t able to commit please speak to your class PTA rep as there are many other smaller roles and one off jobs you can help us with.

Your PTA year group reps are;

  • Pre-School – Elise Elfassy
  • Reception – Nadia Myerson
  • Year 1 – Jazmine Starr
  • Year 2 – Liz Ross
  • Year 3 – Jazmine Starr
  • Year 4 – Amy Alex

We are constantly planning events, details of which will be in the newsletter and on the school facebook group.

If you or your child has any ideas please contact us! We are always on the look out for exciting suggestions.

Bury Family Bank

We are very excited to be working alongside Bury Family Bank. They are a local charity who provide much needed resources for poor families. They provide clothing for babies and children, essential toiletries and baby equipment. We supported the charity alongside our half term holiday club, raising money to buy numerous items for this fabulous cause and will continue to do so over the year.

Virtual Holiday Clubs – during lockdown

We have run two very successful holiday clubs on Zoom during the lockdown period. The clubs were very kindly run by both parents and teachers. Sessions included cookery, art, quizzes, yoga, scavenger hunts, coding, story writing. The club was extremely popular and thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended. A big thank you to all those who supported these events!

BWJPS – Week of  Chanukah Madness!!!!

During the last week of the December 2020 term we invited our children to join in our week of madness. The children paid money to dress up each day of the week, to fit in with a theme

  • Multi colour Monday
  • PJ day Tuesday
  • Wacky Wednesday
  • Throwback Thursday
  • Fancy Friday

Here is a brief list of some of our past events:

  •  Chanukah Fair
  •  Summer Fair
  •  Theatre trips, Joseph, The Bodyguard and Mary Poppins to name a few
  •  Quiz nights  – Beauty evenings
  •  School discos  – Holiday clubs

Oh yes it will soon be that time of year again, when we are ironing/sticking name labels to our children’s clothing, pens, pencils, shoes, socks…etc. We have registered an account for the school with the company known as “My Nametags”. Their success is based upon the fact that once the labels are on, they never come off. In addition you can choose not to purchase the iron on ones, to save time and instead purchase labels that stick to anything. Their website is www.mynametags.com . Please use the code 26348 when adding your details and our school will receive 20% cash back on all purchases made!

Don’t throw away your unwanted clothes. Save them for our Eco Kids collection. See their website for full details of what they will accept, www.ecokidsproject.co.uk. Our main collection date will be confirmed the newsletter but if you can’t store your items until then (usually April) then we can collect and store them for you during the year.
